McAfee has released a new survey of UK parents that finds that “81% of parents do not turn on parental controls.” This is 180 degrees opposite from a European Union survey released in December 2008, which found that 85% of UK parents were using some form of parental controls.
See the table below on page 48 of the report, which lists UK list as 52% using filtering and monitoring; 26% filtering software only, and 7% using only monitoring software – for a total of 85%. How does one explain this?
